Hey Ally, I have another question about scansion. What do I do if there is an odd number of syllables? In this line I'm working on it is a tetrameter with an extra syllable. I don't know what to do with it.
Hey Ally, Sorry I'm so needy. On the phone I was asking if it was normal for the scansion to change in the same poem. Now I'm asking how I should label it (i.e. iambic tetrameter) if there is a leftover syllable. So it would be like 4 1/2 feet instead of 4.
Also, I forgot to add in my source at one point in my bio when I used a quote, so I just wrote it in. Is that ok or would you rather me fix it on the computer and re-print it? Again, I'm sorry if I'm inconveniencing you!
One question about scansion, when I am doing my scansion how should I write what rythem and meter each line is? Should I do it like this: Dimeter-trochee.
Rachel: - you can just write in the source you forgot; no problem. - be careful of there being a "leftover" syllable. Make sure there's not a set of three rather than just two. If there is an extra syllable, go with whatever it would be without that extra.
Nicki: - you label it in two words, for example "iambic pentameter". Is that helpful?
I can't wait for the update!!!!!! It was sssoooo much fun!!!!! I'd love to get everyone's pics, is there a way we can make sure everyone get everyone's or is it like every man for himself? I love all of you!!!!
